WebChapter 13 of Mark's Gospel is known as the apocalyptic or eschatological discourse. It is the only place in this, the first Gospel to be written, where Jesus delivers a long consecutive teaching on a single subject. This chapter uses two forms of literary genre, apocalypse and farewell discourse.
